Sickness...

We have been VERY sick over here...well not all of us. Just poor Linnea and Chris. Linnea woke up in the middle of night (around 1am) Wednesday screaming and then the puking began and didnt stop until about 3am. We have seen her puke but we have never seen the terrible tummy cramping she had. She was just beside herself and so scared which makes us as parents feel so bad. I just wished it was me instead of her. She finally was able to sleep from about 3-7. Here she is the morning after the puking...a bit of a sparkle in her eye already. She is a tough girl. And Harper remained happy through it all, eating her peaches here.

Chris began to feel awful at about 6 so I called in and am so glad I did. He hasnt gotten 100% better yet and its Saturday night. He's pretty sure its norovirus/gastroentinitus (sp?). Whatever it is, its awful! Chris cleaned upstairs as thoroughly as he could today since he felt a bit better. But since Chris didn't leave the upstairs until today and we were worried about the plague...the girls and I camped out on the living room floor Thursday and Friday night.

Linnea felt pretty good by Friday afternoon so we went to my school's carnival which was a blast!
Pictures to come!

Neighborhood Picnic!

We love our neighborhood more and more each time we all get together. We had a wonderful potluck picnic last Tuesday night at the choo choo park. We even met some new people we didn't know yet :) There are so many kids too which is awesome :) Here are the two Linnea's teeter tottering away and having a great time!

Mother's Day!

What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Garage saling Friday with my mom and girls, more sales on my own with the girls Sat morning and then lunch at my parents with Brian and his family for their part of Mothers Day with our mom. After Bri and the gang left I got a very windy run in while my parents watched the kids. We headed to visit GG after that for our Mother's Day with her.

Sunday morning us gals headed to Caribou to enjoy their BOGO offer for moms and we had breakfast there too. Linnea ordered a carrot cake muffin since it had a carrot on the frosting and she thought it was cute. I ordered a turkey bacon mini breakfast melt which she liked more so we traded after a few bites. I LOVE being a mommy of these two precious girls.

I got a super nice blender from Chris and the girls and also some sports bras and a pair of running shorts since I'm constantly complaining about my sports bras. It turned out these weren't quite right either so we headed to Kohls to do an exchange and use our kohls cash. What a sweet husband I have to try to find what I think is one of the most difficult things to fit me.
We then went into Gordmans since I had never been there. What a FUN store! I will be shopping there more often now :)
We came home for lunch and then I got both girls down for a nap at the same time which was a gift in itself! My parents got here around 3 and we did a good chunk of gardening while the girls slept and then once they awoke we had some "help". My parents were so nice to give us lilies and help plant for my gift. When we were done we went to get frozen yogurt for supper from a fav frozen yogurt bar. YUM and so FUN! My dad a got a great picture of us eating our froyo, but again I need that cord to put it on here :)

garage sales!

Last Friday we hit quite a few garage sales with my mom out in Woodbury for their Lions Club garage sale weekend. We had pretty good luck on finding small stuff but I didn't get to them early enough to snag the big stuff we are looking for like a bike for Linnea and a bike trailer for me to haul the girls, a kids picnic table and kids small table and chairs for art/eating inside. We did find some picture frames, clothes and books. We took a break to have a picnic lunch and play at a park.

Linnea's new "trick" on the twisty pole.
We had some fun with my parents neighbors and their bikes when we were just about done saling. We walked/rode to a sale down the road from their house, then played a park again and had a quick supper over there before heading home to see daddy.

Sunshine!!!

We have been heading to the choo choo park quite a bit lately since the sun and warmth have decided to join us here in MN! I think this was one Sunday after tidying up. I got a cute picture of Harpers toes in the sand for the first time so I will try to remember to post that one in a bit!

Happy Girls!!

We have some happy gals on our hands! Im not sure when these all were taken so not much writing here! Just some pics to enjoy!

Run or Dye, lunch with friends and 15 year High School Reunion

Saturday morning my friend Missy and I did a very fun run! I have done lots of runs/races in my life but none quite like the Run or Dye. We started out in our white race shirts but by the end we had a little bit more color on them, on our pants, in our hair and on our shoes. The dye is basically corn starch and dye so as we ran there were a couple stations where people threw this on us and it was like you were running through a cloud of dusty color. It was super crowded and pretty poorly organized at the beginning but everyone was there just for fun so it was okay. A bit chilly though! My dad was so nice to come over and watch both girls alone since Chris was working.

before on the bus! the after pictures are still to come...

After the run I got myself and the girls ready quick and we headed out to lunch with some of my coworkers. Linnea loved them and Harper fell asleep on one of them so we were able to stay and chat for like 3 hours!!! We started out at Old Country Buffet but it was so busy so we decided to go to Applebee's, one of my fav places!

The day didn't end there for me...the evening was my 15 year High School Reunion!!! It was so fun to be out and catch up with old friends and have a beer :) Chris was home with the girls and they all slept, until about 130 but I got home at 2 so I fed the baby and she passed right back out. So did I and I was so happy both gals slept until like 830 and we had no major plans after my late night out.

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!!!

For my dad's 60th birthday, those of us who wanted to did a part of the Ironman bike ride. My dad and his friend did the 50 miler (they thought about doing 10 more, to do 60 miles for their 60th bday, but decided to stick with 50). I did a 29 mile route with some friends from work and a few people did the 15 mile route and one friend did a 23 mile route. So much fun! It turned out to be a beautiful day which is super unusual for this ride. It's almost always rainy, windy or cold..or all the above! But this year it was sunny and 70! perfect! I didnt get any training rides it but I think my bit of running and yoga helped me because it wasn't very hard at all :) It was a lovely route through parts of Stillwater and the Gateway Trail.

After the ride we had a potluck dinner/late lunch gathering at my parents house with plenty of friends and family. We of course headed to the park for a bit with the kids, the kids ran around the yard and then we did presents and had a delicious ice cream cookie cake made by my mom. My mom was so nice to watch the girls while I rode in the bike ride. Thank you mom!

I have more pictures from today but am having a hard time finding the cord that allows me to put pictures from my phone onto the computer....so the following blog posts wont have all the pictures I want them to but I will try hard to remember to upload more when I find this cord! I just dont want to be so behind and since Im up alone for the first time in a few nights I want to take advantage of doing the blog while watching 27 Dresses :)

Earth Day/NPC Gathering

We headed to Harriet Alexander Nature Center for their Earth Day Celebration once again. This time we met up with our New Parent Connection group. We did a little craft which was coloring a cup and planting a sunflower seed in it, did some coloring, listening to music, registered to win some things and got a free reusable bag from half price books. We also went on a little walk and I brought some dirt and worms dessert to share. I thought I had a picture of it but I cant find it, dirt and worms for those who dont know is simply chocolate pudding, crumbled oreos and gummy worms! I mixed cool whip in but you certainly dont need to.

7 month old pictures

These are a little late but here is Harper at 7 months!

She is following in her big sisters footsteps and hasn't done much rolling and has had no attempts at crawling, but she will get there when she gets there :) She has tried sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, pears, applesauce, carrots, corn, squash, prunes and some rice cereal and oatmeal. We have decided to stop the rice cereal though because she had major constipation issues so we are just doing straight solids. She is babbling away, loves rattles, paper, her binky, wipes wrappers, and is getting interested in books. She is also a music lover...she has her favorite songs which she smiles too as soon as she hears them and she loves to bounce and dance while being carried. She is happy in her exersaucer and as of this week took two 1.5 hour long naps in her crib!!! Woohoo! She is still sleeping with us ( I know, we are going against the norm and recommended sleeping pattern here but it is working for us and we are all getting more sleep this way, maybe not the most comfortable sleep, but we are sleeping). I am still pumping at work so she hasn't had more than like 8oz of formula. She absolutely adores her big sis and daddy. I dont think I wrote about her 6 month appt. Daddy took her to her to it alone and everything went well, minus those shots. But, just like big sis, she was right in the middle of the stats. Chris thinks she was 17 lbs and 25 in.
Similar to Linnea but L was 15.5 lbs.

Sister pose below and fun headband from Kaylan above!

We of course had some more snow when I started this blog entry so I put Harper in this outfit she otherwise would not have gotten a chance to wear.
