April Fool's, Como Zoo and Childrens Museum

I had fun playing a few jokes on my sweet daughters on April's Fool's Day...

I had her pour her own cereal out...she was wanting Rice Krispies and was quite shocked when out came fruit loops!

Well then she got her rice krispies but she couldn't scoop with her spoon because silly mom froze some milk in there the night before :) I really hope this video works because its pretty funny. Linnea was a very good sport about it. Harper didnt really get in but she did pull all the covers off Linnea's bed which Linnea is convinced was her joke. I was told multiple times that a centipede was crawling on my shoulder or a spider was on my head :) These statements were followed by lots of giggles!

Linnea and I dropped Harper off at daycare and had some time at Como Zoo with Bina and her grandma. I felt a little bad without Harper because she loves the zoo but at the same time it was super crowded so having her stroller would have been hard and her walking/running would have been stressful. There will be more trips to the zoo. Plus it was nice for Linnea to be with just her friend.

The giraffe was likely peeing here and that is why Linnea is grinning and laughing.

Linnea is posing like Sparky and Bina is just posing :)
We did spend some quality time with Harper late afternoon since we went to the Children's Museum!

Linnea and I went to the library after the zoo and scored a free pass to the Museum and since it was break they were open until 6 so we went from about 4-6. It was awesome...not crowded and there was a new Sid the Science Kid exhibit. We missed Chris but he had to work late so he made us a yummy dinner to come to instead. It was much Pad Thai and much better than the PB sandwiches I had packed :)

Water and bubble fun!

The new Sid exhibit...a Dance Floor!

Sid's mom's car along with a radio with their songs on it :)

We spent a bit of time in the nature area being turtles, muskrats and ants :)

Then right before closing we did some dance/karoake :)

There was a cute little gold chipmunk in front of Harper and Linnea is playing with some gold animals in a maze type thing.
What a FUN day!

Smoothies, Crafts and a Playdate

Spring break Strawberry Smoothies!
YUM!

We did some Easter crafts after our smoothies and then met a friend at the
pirate ship park for a playdate!

We hadn't been to this park since the fall and Linnea's friend from school had never been there so we spent like 2 hours there! It was fun to meet a friend from school. Her mom and sisters stayed the whole time with us and we just chatted away. They are a very nice family.
This was our first playdate with someone outside of our neighborhood :)
This friend actually lives close to us too so Im sure we will have more playdates!

We finished our playdate with some ice cream from a new ice cream shop!
It was delicious!

I took the girls to the library for some Easter books and movies before heading home and then for a short walk/bike ride while dinner was cooking. We also dropped some books off in our friends free little library :)

Busy, fun productive day!

Cinderella!!!!

Linnea and I had a mommy/daughter day on Monday. We brought Harper to daycare and then headed home to hangout until it was time for our date at the movies!
We met our friends for a special time at
CINDERELLA!

It was a beautiful movie with some beautiful Cinderellas!

I took Linnea to a favorite park for about 15 minutes before going home
and heading to our next event.

Our next event was another movie! This one was a free one at the library and it was Big Hero 6 again. Daddy and Harper hadn't seen this wonderful flick yet so we NEEDED to go even if it was the second movie in one day.
Oh well...it's spring break!

Harper made it for about a half hour before her and I went and looked at books and played in the library. We then went and played outside at the nearby playground. Linnea and Daddy watched the whole movie though. Linnea loved it again and daddy thought it was great too :)

Community Expo and a Baby Shower

Hudson, WI had a fun community expo that the girls and I went to with my parents and Erik and his boys. There were some crafts, lots of booths to put out names in in hopes of winning fun prizes, free samples and....

a mascot dance off!!! We found the free fro yo sample just before it started so we enjoyed the dancing and sampling at the same time. I didnt win anything, however my mom won a ham which we just ate today for Easter :) Well...we made a small dent in it...it was a BIG one!

From the expo the gals and I headed to my high school friends baby shower. This is her third child and we normally would not have had a shower for her but she just tragically lost her home and basically everything in a house fire. I believe it happened about a month and a half ago. Very very sad and traumatizing for her, her hubby and their two daughters, 6 and 3. They are very blessed to be okay since they were in the house but this is still definitely a life altering event.
She deserved to have this fun party for her :)

The girls had a great time playing and I had a great time catching up with my friends. We also enjoyed the yummy food! It is a very good thing we had this shower because Katie actually had her baby the very next day! A premie! He was supposed to come April 28th but apparently he was ready to come now! They stayed in the Hospital for almost a week but he was cleared to come home yesterday so they got to have Easter at home together :)

Fun Start to Spring Break!

I had a very fun last day of work before spring break since I got to go to Linnea's school in the morning and hear them sing with their guest artist. They worked with him for just a week and learned some very fun old folk songs and also wrote their own! They performed with another room so this is not just Linnea's class. Shes the pretty girl in the back left corner with a grey sweater on. I tried to put a video up of one of their songs too. Its kind of long but Linnea loved this song :) Linnea sure loved Charlie and was beaming that I could make it! St. Anthony Park has a lot of parent involvement and some parents who are there daily or at least once a week helping but I can't do that so it made both of our days that I could take my morning off. I also snuck a run in in between dropping Harper off and Linnea's show. So that always helps me have a better day too!

That evening we went to the old fashioned egg hunt in Woodbury and saw the creepy bunny again. As you can see Harper did not know quite what to think!

After and before (we miraculously got their early) we played at the park. We ran into some friends from high school and the new parent group which was great!

Neither girl found a ton of eggs but neither girl had a breakdown about it either. It was just fun to be outside and run around :)

We went to another Easter event the next morning with my parents in Woodbury. As you can see a much cuter bunny was at this event :)

Harper still wasnt so sure and much preferred the Peanuts characters that are outside of Keys Cafe :)

Both girls decided to have their hand painted instead of their faces. It was the first time we had success with Harper with this :)
 A bunny and a carrot. Egg-cellent!

We went out for a late lunch once we were done "trick or treating" for Easter goodies and doing some crafts. Linnea also got a balloon caterpillar :)

It was a great way to kick off spring break in St. Paul!
