Brooke and Jeremy Tie the Knot!

Congratulations Brooke and Jeremy! Brooke is one my best friends from high school and her and I used to talk and talk and talk about our wedding days so it is sooo exciting that we both have now had our wedding days and were able to be a part of each others weddings. We had a blast celebrating with these love birds and their wedding was just beautiful and I know their marriage will last forever!
Their first dance was one like I have never seen! It must have been choreographed and practiced a lot! It was so fun to see them float, spin and smile across the dance floor to Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours. Soooo fun!

Linnea had lots of fun playing on the steps with daddy and sitting in her very own high chair. She thought this was especially cool.

Cra and Zy as we called ourselves in High School..together we were crazy! I know..nerds but we were happy and always had fun. ALWAYS!

Congrats again newlyweds...hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did and of course enjoyed Hawaii!

Norwood Young America Days

A few weekends ago we headed down or maybe over to Norwood Young America to partake in their town celebration with our good friend Chuck. Linnea even joined in on the fun!

It turned out to be a chilly night so we happy to have her blanket for her...

And beers for us in the tent!

She is keeping an eye on us...

Especially that Chuck...

And here we are standing at Chuck's before walking to the festivities! What a fun evening! Thanks Uncle Chuck!

End of Summer Fun

Linnea has been very busy enjoying the end of summer and so have her parents!

We went to Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings on Labor Day which was wonderful! It is one of my new favorite places! As is the Red Balloon Book Shop on Grand Ave. I just discovered they have baby storytime Tuesday mornings so that is where you can find us from here on out until she graduates to the toddler time which also Tuesday mornings! Any other moms out there please join us!

The view of the St. Croix River on our walk was sooo pretty!

There is a very neat interpretive center there and a raspberry patch, apple orchard and pumpkin patch!

Megan, Brian and the boys were also there. Megan actually introduced me to this wonderful place!

Here is Ms. Linnea on her first ride!

We were able to make it out to Woodbury Days for the last afternoon of it, where Linnea got to go on her first Merry Go Round!

Daddy helped her and she seemed to really like it!

We also spent a day at Como Zoo where they have a butterfly garden and Linnea just loved it in there! So did I! I have always loved butterflies. We went with an old friend high school so that was very fun to catch up.

And we finally made it to Lake Elmo and played in the sand and went swinging! Linnea finally fits in the infant swing! She giggled and giggled in it! We went with Megan and her boys and my friend with her daughter. We all wished we would have brought our suits...it got much warmer than expected. But dipping our feet in worked and then Linnea and I went on a LONG walk (which meant a long nap for her after talking to the trees!) in the mostly shaded trails.

WEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm doing my best to fill our days with as much fun as possible and check things off my, things to do with Linnea list, because it looks as though I need to go back to work sooner than later. I have applied for many jobs and interviewed for three. I have mixed feelings and know it isn't going to be an easy transition for any of us but we will be fine. So far I have applied for Associate Educators in Mpls which is what I did last year and love and really want to do again. The hours are perfect and the pay is great. I would get home around 3 which is the same as Chris so we would have plenty of day left together. However, the jobs I have interviewed for are 12-6, Mon thru Thurs and some Saturdays. That position would be running the after school program and other Community Programs at Andersen where I have worked for like 5 years or Jefferson or Green Central, which would be new to me. I know I would love it and get used to the hours but it sure sounds better to get home around 3, than 6:30! So we will keep you posted as we learn more!

And yet another Twins Game!

We brought Linnea to another Twins Game, however this was a night one so as you can see she is zonked out! This baby will have gone to at least 4 games by the time she is 1! We went this time not only because we love the Twins, but also because Alison was here from Colorado to do an article on the laying of the sod in the new stadium. She wanted to go to one last game in the MetroDome and we thought we may as well go with her! I had to work at the game so my parents brought Linnea and I met them inside around the 4th inning. She was out by the 7th! But lasted a long time to play with us and grin at the cute old couple behind us!
Here are the guys at the game! Our two dads and Tony, another guy here to help with the sod.

Linnea loved Al!

And loves to sleep on my lap.

Only 19 indoor games of baseball left!

Happy 3 year Anniversary!

Well I have been a Meyers for 3 years! The time has flown by and we have had so much fun since that special day at Afton Apple Orchard! We have gone on many trips, bought a house and had a baby! We love our life together!

For our first anniversary we on a Northern Wisconsin Adventure, last year we went to Kansas City for a Twins vs. Royals game and to Zoo for an early celebration. At home in the cities we enjoyed some frisbee golf, Grand Ole Creamery Ice Cream and Dixies for dinner.

And this year we spent it at home with a home cooked meal of BLT's, roasted sweet corn and green beans from our garden.

And of course we shared it with our favorite little girl!

My first tea party!

My friend Rachael invited me to my first tea party!!! It was sooooo fun!! I drank out of my own cute mug and sat in this cute little chair...just my size!!

And I tried some dehydrated fruit too!! Yum!

I had fun with Rach...she is soooo nice!

Here we are with our mommies...they enjoyed the tea too!

And Rachael's little brother Daniel woke up and hung out with us for a while too. He will be one this Friday! I get to go to his bday party when he feels better and they have more time in September.

I really like tea parties and cant wait for the next one! Thanks for having us over and for letting me play with your toys too Carsons!
Mommy, maybe we can have the next party at our house!?

Amy and Linnea's walking adventures and other ramblings!

Linnea and I took some very fun walks in the last week. This top one if of her sitting and looking at the Mississippi River from a very nice path by downtown St. Paul and the Science Museum.
Here we are at a plaza near the the Apts along the River and she is extremely interested in some skateboarders zipping by and doing tricks.
Who knew there were cool fountains along this path behind the Science Museum?
And a place to walk in the water...Linnea didn't know what to think of that.
Ahhh...what a nice view of the bridges, the river and downtown. I like St. Paul!

Last week we also walked along Grand and Summit. While on Grand near Snelling we came across Macalester which I had never walked around before. So we explored there and decided it was a very nice campus!

And of course we had to lay down and play for a little while!

And ponder where she will go to college...

I also found another used bookstore along Grand. I can't say I like it more than Half Price Books but it was a great store and had two Shopaholic Books that I can never find at the library so I decided to buy them. I have surprisingly been able to read more since Linnea came along and we cut cable. In fact I joined a book club with some college friends and went to our first meeting with Linnea on Friday night. I could be in another one too but the dates haven't worked out for me yet. And since I have just been working at the Dome selling Twins tickets when they are home and 2 shifts at Caribou I have some extra time to read.
Speaking of work, I don't know if I wrote back in the spring that my aide position was cut for this year, so I have been keeping my eyes open all summer for a different position but still don't have a job for the school year and I can't get over how weird it feels. I have been working in a school in one way or another for the past 6 years of my life! I love being home and being a mommy with Linnea but do miss working at the same time. I have applied for a few after school coordinators so keep your fingers crossed that one of those works out! It would be pretty good hours and pay...so many of the school jobs out there don't have both good hours and good pay. We have to be picky about which job I take because it has to pay enough that we have some income after daycare costs...oh these are the decisions that aren't so fun about growing up and being parents.

But we are doing good overall and can't complain too much about our situation...I do have the Twins and Caribou still employing me. And Chris has his job which is great but he has been very busy with it lately. He is such a good employee and daddy and think he deserves to have tomorrow night off. My parents will take Linnea to her 3rd Twins game and I will meet them inside with some of our other friends as well!
