Meyers girls do some theaters :)

The Ordway had a special family day called "Rock the Ordway" where one of our fav children's bands called "The Bazillions" were performing.  So naturally we went!

The girls were amazed by the beauty of the Ordway. I can't wait til there is another show there that is Linnea friendly. It will be a while before Harper can go but Cinderella was there a few years ago and had Linnea been 6 I would have taken her.

Looking out at Rice Park through the HUGE windows!

There was a hip hop band there teaching people some dance moves and Harper REALLY enjoyed that! she kept jumping up on stage even when they hadn't "called" on her! You can see her dancing on the floor and then on the stage.

Harper wanted to get some fresh air that evening and insisted on wearing my helmet :)

Well, there may not have been a play at the Ordway for Linnea but 12 Dancing Princesses was playing at our favorite childrens theater so we went there with some friends. Thanks to Livingsocial we got our tix two for the price of one! I love a good deal!

The play was beautiful...lots of nice music and pretty dancing princesses.
It made Linnea want to be in ballet.

The Linneas!

The girls loved to see the princesses up close and get their autographs. All the princesses asked our girls to twirl for them in their dresses and told them they were princesses too :)
The girls' faces lit up!

My mom had watched Harper while I had my date with Linnea and we got back to her place in time for a late supper and then jammies and ice cream before heading home. Chris was at a baseball draft so I wasn't in a hurry to get home to an empty house.

Two sleepy girls.

Harper and I went in to wake up Linnea in the morning and Harper decided to crawl in next to her.
So sweet!

Castle Day!

I took these gals to Castle day at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. It was their free family day which always has a theme and what a fun theme this was :)

But first we needed to look at the big dollhouse :)

Then we went up this beautiful staircase!

And found where they were assembling a "community" castle!

Harper did awesome at adding tape!

Then we found a box to make our own castle that we could take home.

Linnea was very proud and even brought it to her sharing day at school.

They also had some music and a photo booth where we could have dressed like queens and kings and princesses but the line was very long for that. We also enjoyed looking at some of the art. I forgot to tell Linnea not to touch it tho so when she saw this ceramic white dog with a red nose she needed a reminder of hand off art in the art museum! oops! But on family day I am sure she wasnt alone in this.

Neverbeast, "Tennis", Donuts and a Date :)

I wanted to share some of Linnea and Harper's photos that I found on my phone. The one above was for sure taken by Linnea and the two below also by Linnea. Not sure of the other ones :)

Some nights I find lil boots here by the door all ready to go...

We had an impromptu movie and pizza night with the other lil Linnea in our neighborhood. The girls and I were walking home from Sabina's and Linnea was outside and more or less invited herself over. We thought since we were just making tortilla pizzas and watching the new Tink why not have her come over :)

It wasn't our fav Tink but it was still good :)

And each gal got some pudding near the end for their lil treat :)

Saturday afternoon I brought Linnea to a pretty awesome free inner city tennis program. Linnea was pretty nervous since we werent sure other kids she knew would be there and she was worried she wouldnt be very good at tennis since she had never done it before. Turns out it wasnt tennis at all quite yet but rather a bunch of different stations teaching the kids different skills. It is an awesome program and our neighbor Linnea ended up going so it all worked out.

We stopped at Glam Doll Donuts for some yummy well donuts of course! I had heard wonderful things about this shop and I have to admit I like the apple fritters from gas stations more BUT the girls filled donuts and the glazed were fantastic! There are a LOT of flavors (even a bacon one) and I am sure there are different kinds every time. The atmosphere is very vintage and retro. I love that it is a locally run unique place. We will go back!

When we got home my parents arrived shortly after to babysit the girls while Chris and I went on our March date :)

We were hoping bowl at Bryant Lake Bowl but the wait was about 2 hours to bowl and we werent hungry for anything on the menu so we decided to walk down to Lynlake brewery and try some new beers again for our date. I feel like maybe our resolution should be to do a new brewery every month...we have only missed January so maybe we will just do two one month to make up for it :)

It was very interesting how we got our food...they actually didn't have food at the brewery but instead had delivery menus from neighboring restaurants. We chose to order from taco cat and our food was delivered to our table by a man who clearly had biked to us since he was in a bike helmet :) It was delicious and so was the beer!

When we were done we checked back at Bryant Lake Bowl and it was still going to be a while to bowl so we decided to cancel our spot and come back another time with friends.

We weren't quite ready to head home since my parents had just started bedtime and one of my fav things about date night (besides spending alone time with Chris) is not having to put the girls to bed. I love reading to them and snuggling but it's nice to have a night off every now and then too :) So I googled happy hours in the area and found this one called Bad Waitress. It was just down the road from Glam Doll where I had been earlier in the day so that was kinda funny to be in the same neighborhood twice in the same day. There are tons of places to go on "Eat Street"/Nicollet Ave and we will be back to try more!

At Bad Waitress you fill out your own"check" and there are kind of superheroish cards on the tables for the waitress to deliver your order to you. We just had 2 for the price 1 wine (which happened to be box but good boxed), coffee and a shake :) the menu you looked yummy so we may be back again.

All in all a GREAT date even though we didn't end up anywhere we thought we would!
The girls enjoyed their time with grandma and papa too :)

Cousin and friend Fun

Harper went to her first movie :) We ended up at the Riverview for the second weekend in a row this time it was me with both girls in tow and we didnt do too bad! We saw The Penguins of Madagascar and it was quite funny. Harper got a lil restless near the end and moved around our seats a bit but it was mostly families in the theater and not very full so I dont think anyone minded. Plus it was only $2 so I could have left if needed but at a kids movie I wasnt anticipating needing to do that ;)

From the theater we went to the summer camp fair at the Como Zoo. We got some fun ideas for this summer, signed up for some prizes, got a face painted and ate some candy :)

This is pretty much a nightly routine at our house. Sure wish this bed was also being slept in.

We had some fun the following Sunday! The boys had slept at my parents so we met them at church and then after church went back to my parents for some Dr. Seuss crafts in honor of his birthday.

One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
We used corn syrup and food coloring for the water...it dried so neatly...looked just like water!

Once lunch and crafts were done we headed to a magician at the Woodbury Library. He was hilarious and very good! The boys headed home with my parents and the girls and I headed back to our house. Chris wanted to meet us at the magician but locked himself out of the house without his car keys :( Luckily the car was open so he sat in there with his phone for a bit and went on a short walk to warm up. It wasnt that cold but I wanted to get back to him shortly after the magician.

We went to Como one last time for the music.
Looking forward to their outdoor summer music soon!

 Fun with a friend:)

Again these uploaded funny...we went to Barnes and Noble for a Dr. Suess Jammie storytime with some friends :)

Here is my dear sweet friend who has somehow been gone 3 years. Not a day goes by I dont think of her at least once. Love and miss you always Carolyn Marie.
