Ice and Snow Sculptures in St. Paul

This past Saturday we had a very fun family date! Since this was the last weekend of the coldest celebration on Earth (also knows as the Winter Carnival) we headed to Rice Park in downtown St. Paul to check out the ice sculptures. It was a perfect winter day to be outside. Not too cold at all.

We first made a pit stop at REI to get Linnea a second pair of winter boots. We love the one pair she has but with a child in daycare its helpful to have two since the ones at daycare usually get left there! Here she is walking along in her new kicks...she hated trying them but once she got in them they weren't coming off! She loves them!

Queen Linnea. What a ham she was for all while sitting in her throne.

And she thought it was pretty cool to ride an ice dog!

We finished our date at Dunn Brothers with yummy sandwiches and also some Chai which Linnea oddly enjoyed.

The Winter Carnival also has snow sculptures at the State Fairgrounds and a snow maze! I stopped there with my parents on the way to the Luminary Loppet which I will do a different post about and Chris took Linnea there on Sunday morning but his pics are on his phone...I will maybe get some up. They enjoyed their date to the snow sculptures and then Jimmy Johns! can you tell we love sandwiches? We also love the Twins which this sculpture below is of! It was my favorite one! There were many more...a huge dinosaur which Linnea cried by...perhaps scared? Who knows with these toddlers. Also Tom Sawyer painting a fence, a hatching eagle, yogi bear, a baseball glove, and many more!
