Lake Johanna and Dixie's!
Saturday July 9th we had a very fun family day! We wanted to make the most of it because Chris was heading to Florida for the week for work training sessions on Sunday. Linnea and I headed out in the morning for a run...every now and then she enjoys getting pushed in the jogger for 30-40 minutes. It works our great when we go in the morning because then I give her snack cup full of dry cereal and we get two things done at once...her breakfast and my workout! We usually head to Como Lake and look for ducklings, dogs, butterflies and bikers. We were pretty warm when we returned so she got a homemade popsicle! The fruit part of her breakfast! We then packed up our beach bag and headed to Lake Johanna to cool off and play at the playground which is right on the beach. We had a Wendy's picnic (I felt like I had packed so many picnic lunches the last couple of days, we could buy lunch!). It was a great afternoon! We got Linnea down for her nap, Chris went to get last minute trip stuff and who knows what I did :) Upon Chris's return and Linnea waking we headed out to Dixies to redeem a half off coupon and have a nice dinner out before Chris's departure. Linnea enjoyed her buttered noodles, fruit, and corn on the cob but what she enjoyed the most probably was making her own ice cream sundae! She especially liked dumping the sprinkles on the whip cream. There was a choo choo that went around and around the bar near the ceiling so that kept Linnea's attention and the service was super quick so Linnea did okay. We never know what we are going to get going out to eat with her but we havent had any disasters yet! I absolutely love Dixie's...it is as close to New Orleans as I am going to get up here in MN. When we got home and got Linnea down, Chris finished packing and so did I (Linnea and I needed to pack for our daytrip to Hayward, WI...more on that in the next post) and then we watched Crazy Heart. It was a great day! We will miss Chris but have many fun plans to keep us busy and our minds away from the fact that daddy is gone for a week.
