We did some more adventuring the day after Magic Kingdom. We did sleep in a bit but eventually headed out to the beautiful Merrick Nature Center Refuge. No baby alligators or adult ones (thank GOD) but we did see an armadillo on our letterbox hike!
A little playtime while the adults packed up the lunches and snacks.
I think it was just over an hour to our destination and it was beautiful!
We would highly recommend this free gem to anyone visiting the Orlando area! Lots of family friendly places to walk and a nice drive. On the way back we even stopped at a manatee observation deck. We didn't end up seeing any but it was there and would have been cool :)
we didnt see any real gators but Linnea kept showing me a copper one in the "yard" of the nature refuge. |
One of fav family pictures from the trip! We are all looking, smiling and it's not blurry!
One of about 5 letterbox finds!
We thought we were going on a shorter hike than it ended up to be and by the end Harper was sleeping in my arms. Linnea however made the whole 2.5 miles! I think it helped we were hunting for letterboxes :)
double-checking we are going to make it back to the car ;) |
THE ARMADILLO!! He was very cute, little and quick. My dad "chased" him in the woods to get some pictures. Linnea was a lil worried about her papa.
We ended our adventurous day by eating at CiCi's by our resort. I had bought a groupon for CiCi's before heading down and I was happy it worked out to redeem it :) Its already an affordable place to eat and the groupon was just a bonus. There was even a balloon artist there :)
