Fawn Doe Rosa

Here is the post about our morning trip to Fawn Doe Rosa...
What a fun place for all ages!
I think we all enjoyed ourselves.
We got to feed all kinds of farm animals and deer! Even walk along side the deer which was a lil creepy but overrall a lot of fun :) Enjoy the pictures!

We even found a letterbox there!

HELLO!

There was a goat named Cocoa and this may have been it...Im thinking that is why I took a picture :)

The "Ingalls" on a trip across MN ;) Or maybe the Meyers and a Henjum :)

Blake Lake Cabin!

Well its the third of December and Im still not caught up! I really wanted to be caught up before "the holidays"! Oh well...I'll get there...

So we took our annual fall family trip mid October and headed to the St. Croix Falls/Taylors Falls area. We rented a big house/cabin on a lake and spent lots of time fishing, hanging out, played some games, did some crafts, watched some tv, had a fire and took a morning trip to Fawn Doe Rosa. That trip will get a post of its own :)

from our car...just about there!

The kids loved the big basement! They played and played down there :) We had a fun pizza night before playing some more and hitting the hay on that first night.

I got up and went for a run before we headed out on our morning trip. It was a quick breakfast of toast, muffins, bagels, cereal or whatever people wanted before leaving :)

our view!
naptime...no she doesnt have chx pox...its just markers :)

Second night was bonfire and grilling night :) The guys didnt have much luck catching dinner but its okay...we brought some yummy steaks! Its been a while since weve had that!

bedtime stories with grandma :)

I made the easiest dessert ever! Pie filling, cake mix and a stick of butter in the crockpot for 2-3 hours! It could be any mix of pie and cake but we did white cake and apple pie for fall :) Delicious!

More pictures from my morning run on day 2!
Pancake and bacon breakfast on day 2!
 Stella and Harper :)

 The rooms!

We went on a very short scavenger hunt on the beautiful day :)

dining room/kitchen/living room area :)

Our home for the weekend.
We missed part of our family, my lil bro Brian and his family on this trip and during the last 2 years. But we will be together with him one day. He will be okay and is always on our mind and we are in touch with him as best we can be for now. Some of you who follow my blog know the story, and those of you that do not, just keep him and us in your thoughts and prayers, and know we will be okay.
Thank you.

Our Own Boo at the Zoo!

Back in mid October we started our MEA long weekend with a trip to Como Zoo to do our own Boo at the Zoo and take in the fun fall/Halloween decor.

before the zoo Cocoa was playing in and out of our old toy barn.
It was also Lil Explorer day so they had fun lil activities in the entrance of the zoo. We did this A LOT when I was on maternity leave. So fun...and of course free :)

riding a tiger :)

storytime!

Time to check out the outside decorated Zoo :)

so fun to see the wolves up close! its a rare that they are even visible!

We ended our day with some pumpkin crafts. But before that we went to the Dr for Harper's three year appointment and the both girls got their flu mists and I got my shot. Harper is growing just fine, however that speech is not developing on its own as it should. I am big believer in all kids start talking and developing at different paces and there is a big window before I worry, but we have reached the end of that window and we are all ready for some speech therapy. Probably Harper the most. I think she is getting more frustrated and realizing that we dont always know what she is saying. She has gotten what she has wanted in one way or another...Linnea talking for her, her showing us, her pointing but its time to use/learn some more words. We are lucky that after 3 St. Paul Public Schools works with Help Me Grow and offers therapy for free. We went to her screening already and she is definitely below avg for speech and a little developmentally as well so we will do both. I think everything will click fairly quickly for her. Within the last month she already talks more and she does real well when music is involved..especially if it's Annie, Elmo or any version of "where is thumbkin, where is thumbkin, here i am, here i am! Its very cute to hear her trying to say more :)
