MIA Family Day

Did you know the Minneapolis Institute of Arts has a free family day the second Sunday of each month? Well they do and its AWESOME! This time there was a bunch of easels and activities and music outside in their beautiful yards/gardens for the kids to paint or draw with different materials.
Inside there were more crafts and a nice playroom for Harper.
There were also butterflies on stilts!

We tried walking to Glam Donuts where I have wanted to go for months but it was 315 when we got there. They closed at 3! We were all quite disappointed but found a different bakery to go to...The May Day Cafe...it is back in my old old neighborhood so after we enjoyed our treats I drove the girls by old homes, church, Erik's schools and my friends houses. We even got out and tried to visit one but she was not home :( It was a wonderful Sunday with wonderful friends.

Summer is Dwindling to an End

One rainy day we tried origami...which was actually me trying it and Linnea watching resulting in me getting super frustrated because I did not know what I was doing and we only had construction paper and Harper was getting into everything...so we made a race track instead which went much better!

We've also had some pumpkins in our house!

We tried yoga at the library but Linnea thought it was boring and in true Harper fashion after doing a few down ward dogs with a leg lift she preferred to scurry all over the place. So Linnea and I followed and we walked around the library "yard" and sat in the tree branch fort.

Afterwards we had a delicious treat from Dunn Brothers...coffee for me, smoothing for the girls :)

We took advantage of Como Zoo's free Carousel ride day...it's a fast one and I think it was Harper's first ride...she LOVED it. It got quite warm so we had a hot picnic with our friends and then the girls wanted to play at the park for a bit before swimming at a friends house instead of going to the zoo. Us moms thought that was fine...let the gals lead the way. They have more fun if they have a say/choice in what they do :)

Softball, Corn and SummerFest

The girls and I watched papa play softball one morning and proceeded to pick corn and have lunch with him.

GO PAPA GO!
Picking corn. Harper wasn't the biggest fan but she sure does LOVE to eat it!

The girls also checked out the equipment...this was from a different day but I thought it was blog worthy :)

That evening was Summerfest which was a super fun celebration at the park where Linnea played T-ball. There was music, carnival games, bounce houses, facepainting and pony rides! Even Harper rode the pony but I need to get that picture from Chris. And I really hope I remember because its a cute one! she loved it and you could tell she felt like such a big kid. So proud of herself :)

Linnea was super happy about her medal!

Neighborhood Outing

Wabun Splash Pad with the neighbors!

What a perfect summer day. Swimming and splashing, picnicking, playing at a new park all with friends.
I wanted to see the waterfall afterwards but this happened within seconds....

so we will make it to Minnehaha Falls another time!

Irish Fair

Saturday morning breakfast fun!

We had another wonderful Saturday following that silly breakfast. The Irish Fair was at Harriet Island in St. Paul a few weeks ago and I took the girls there with some neighborhood friends. I had never been before and thought it was a great time! One of Linnea's friends was actually dancing on stage during it so we had fun seeing her :)

 YAY Sabina!

 Some crafts after tattoes..

Linnea, Carolin and Linnea :)

Irish Photo Booth fun! This was Harper favorite and the big dogs! Or "guhs" as she says, Many things are "guhs" in her world. She does not say many words yet but she wants to! Guh and Baby are the most popular!

We ended the day with a Princess and the Frog movie night! I LOVED this movie!
It reminded me so much of my year in New Orleans...the music, the food, the scenery.
Fabulous!

what an exhausting day she said as she fake fell asleep and REALLY wanted a picture taken of it!

A Few Lasts

We had so much fun with Grooving in the Garden, T-Ball and Discover Your Parks this summer. Those three things are done now but the libraries have some events left and I have a few things on my summer bucket list left too :)

Ice Cream with Papa after the last T-Ball game :)

One last Discover your Parks Puppet Wagon Show with Emma

One last prize from the Woodbury Library...she chose a ninja turtle drawing book :) The girls love to walk around Central Park at the library and so do I.

Im throwing a first into the post of lasts...Harper's first all hair ponytail! She has so much hair! She didnt leave it in very long though.

our lil ewok.
The below pics are from one of the last Discover Your Parks.

We were sent on a lil scavenger hunt to find the cute playground off the path. I would have never known the trails and this park exist in Roseville if it werent for Discover your Parks :)

One final Groovin in the Garden...jumping, listening to music, picnic dinners, and if you're Harper just walking around is great :)

This little princess loved all the events so much she was too excited to sleep!

Harper tries most nights to put Linnea's pajamas on. She especially loves the Rapunzel Nightgown.
