Pregnancy Photos!

So I was just looking through all my blogs and realized I repeated myself a few times (I blame baby mind on that...I have had a bad case of that...read on to hear the stories) and have really been slacking on posting preggo pics. Hope you enjoy the progression above...

The 1st picture is on June 20th, preggo week number 15.

The 2nd picture is July 25th week 20.

The 3rd is August 7th, preggo week number 22.

And the last and most recent one is on the beach in Florida August 17th, between week 23 and 24.

Supposedly I will be growing a centimeter a week now until baby is here, so maybe there will be more pictures since a more of a change is happening now!!

Okay so just to share some silly preggo moments...

*Today I thought I worked at Caribou at 6am to 10:45 so I went to work. Nope, I work tomorrow at 6am. They didnt need me to stay this time. I say this time, because I did this one other time this summer as well, but since it was busy I was able to stay.

*Last Monday night I nearly doublebooked myself...which happens when I am not pregnant too, but moreso now.

*A few weeks ago during teaching Sports/Arts I managed to lock myself out of the house on Monday.

*Only to be following Wednesday by locking my keys in my car at work. Luckily, my work is sort of on Chris's way home and he has one of my car keys on his chain so he was able to stop by and give me my key. We werent so lucky on Monday, Chris ended up leaving work early to let his pregnant wife into the house. I thought about biking to work, but it was very hot, I had no water, money or ID and really needed to use th bathroom.

*I went to work at the MetroDome to sell Twins tickets, only the Twins were away. Oops!

So, other than "baby" mind, I'd say the pregnancy is continuing to be right on track. I am feeling our little girl more and more now, I think she likes the Olympics as much as her mommy does. Chris has unfortunately not been able to feel her yet, but we know he will soon.

Florida Fun!

My dad and I had the wonderful opportunity to travel down to the sunny skies of Florida last week! I have a friend who decided to move down there and her parents are friends of my parents so we thought it would be nice to help her move and also a fun vacation!! I left with her and her cousin last Wednesday morning in her car, while our dad left Thursday morning with the moving truck. After hours of listening to fun music, one book and a few movies we made it to her new home just outside of Clearwater, FL late Thursday night/early Friday morning.

Even though it was EXTREMELY hot and humid we definitely had a blast! Along with moving her into her new home which is very cute and already looks like she has lived there a month, we were able to check out some delicious and cute restaurants, ice cream shops and coffee shops. But our favorite time was spent on the BEACH!!! The water was just the right temp, the waves were fairly mild but big enough to get some good rides in, there were seashells everywhere and the birds were also quite entertaining. There wasnt quite enough room for everyone to stay at my friend's new place so her parents got a room at a very cute Inn right on the ocean, literally you walked out the door and down on a path and you were on the beach. We took many morning and evening walks after working to get our friend moved in.

A few more hours were spent on the beach Sunday before our flight home. I was kind of worried about flying with the baby in me but we both did just fine!! She is a champ and has already traveled so much!!

Chris's 30th Birthday

This is kind of an out of order blog but I think I have mentioned that I would put some pictures up from my old husbands 30th birthday!! Friday night Chris and I enjoyed an evening together playing mini golf at Como Town, eating Papa Murphy's pizza and watching Heroes. On Saturday we had probably close to 30 of our closest friends and family over to help celebrate his milestone of a birthday. It was also the first time many people had seen our home and the bathroom remodel was also unveiled for many. A lot of people rocked it out on rockband, while plenty of others chatted, ate and played yard games. I thought it would be fun if we had at least 30 different drinks for people to have and we definitely made that goal since almost everyone brought something different and we provided some on our own too. Thanks for coming everyone and happy birthday Chris!

Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals

Chris and I had a wonderful early 2 year anniversary trip to cheer on the Twins in Kansas City. We decided to leave Friday August 8th in the morning and just take our time driving there. We stopped at quite a few gas stations and rest stops to use the bathroom, have lunch or just go for a walk. This is what happens when a pregnant woman goes on a road trip...a trip that should take just under 7 hours takes about 8. Oh well! The time went by fast and the trip was very fun!!
Friday night we went to get BBQ at a place called Arthur Bryants because we had heard from numerous people that this was a place we must eat. And they were right!! There are at least three of these restaurants in KC but we think this was the original. It was located in a warehouse district and didn't look like much of a restaurant, but when we walked in it was quite busy and there were pictures all over the walls of famous people who had eaten there and framed articles from food magazines raving about Arthur Bryants. You stand in line and order your food to the line cooks, pay for it and bring it to a table or take it home. They serve a heaping pile of whatever BBQ meat you would like on a piece of white wonder bread and it was delicious! You can put their signature sauce on if you like but we liked the smokey flavor of the meat without the sauce. When we were done we went back to our room to watch the Twins on TV and rest for our busy Saturday.

Saturday it decided to be rainy. I was not a happy camper! But Chris put up with me and cheered me up and reminded me that it could be 100degrees and humid and said we should try going to the zoo anyways since it really wasn't down pouring. He was right! We found the zoo and had a blast there...even though I think we walked around the Africa exhibit twice since the map was quite confusing. Anyways...we saw a lot of active animals, including kangaroos, monkeys and meer kats among our favorites!

After the zoo we decided to go downtown and checkout all the fountains we had heard about in their shopping plaza. It was pretty cool! We found a cute popcorn shop and a Cold Stone Creamery which we decided would be our lunch! Pretty unhealthy but we were on vacation and it sounded good! However...ice cream seems to be always sounding good these days!

When we were done seeing the downtown area we headed back to the room to get ready for the outdoor ballgame! We put our Twins shirts on, grabbed our tickets and Circle me Bert sign and made our way to Kaufman Stadium!!! This was definitely the highlight of our trip! Kaufman is a great stadium! The jumbo screen is enormous, the fountain/waterfall structures bordering the outfield are amazing, parking is easy and the fact that it is outside is icing on the cake! We lucked out and the it didn't get rained out, sat by nice Royals fans and some Twins fans and the weather was actually very enjoyable! To top it off the Twins won!!! I don't think we got circled by Bert or seen on tv by our families watching at home but we had fun and plan to go back again and again!

We made it home safely on Sunday after stopping to do one letterbox in Kansas city and getting a custard coffee drink from a local shop by our Best Western.

Stay tuned for a blog about the trip to Florida!

Camping at Bent Trout Lake in Barnum, MN

Well its been a few weeks since we have blogged so I thought I would do one this morning. We have been having so much fun! Like I mentioned at the end of one of our blogs, August would be a busy month of lots of traveling for this mommy to be and some traveling but mostly working for Chris.

So we have gone on one of our trips this august...the first weekend in August we went camping to Bent Trout Lake in Barnum, MN with my parents and two of my dads students from Brazil. What a great way to start August! My last day of the summer program with the kids was Thursday and Friday we just had to clean up our room and do an evaluation of the summer and of course have a free lunch with the great co-teachers. So as soon as that was finished I hurried home to pack and we left when Chris got home and the car as packed. We had lovely weather for camping!! I was a little worried it would be hot but it was just great! Chris and I were excited to use our new tent(well sort of new, it was a wedding gift but we hadn't used it yet!) It was just the right size for us, but a little too small for our double queen air mattress...we still used the mattress because being preggo I didn't want to sleep on hard ground and Chris had a sore back to begin with so we crammed it in there and were very comfortable! The first night was spent talking around the fire and roasting dinner...hot dogs and hamburgers and dessert...smores. My parents and the students took a day trip to Gooseberry Falls and the Splitrock Lighthouse but Chris and I chose to stay at camp and relax in the hammocks and on the beach. We also took a walk around the campground and played Scrabble and Yahtzee. It was much needed day of just hanging out together! We ate taco salad for dinner when the travelers returned, had more smores and played more Yahtzee. Sunday we packed up and went to the lake for one more time in the canoe and tried to fish a little before leaving. My dad and the students had experienced something new with loons on Friday and Saturday so they wanted to see if the same thing happened on Sunday. I guess they would catch a fish, but the loons on the lake also wanted their fish they would catch, so they would attach themselves to the fish and the fishermen would be pulling up loons!!!! CRAZY BIRDS!!! I did not experience this...I just caught weeds...oh well! It was a wonderful weekend nonetheless...Chris and I made it home safely with two side trips on the way home...the Hinckley Casino and I just cant go past the Outlet Mall without stopping!
