GOOOO TWINS!!!

Harper at almost 11 months old survived her first trip to the Twins Game! We decided to take the Light Rail there this time and had so much fun. It was quite packed on the way home but Linnea sees the "train" zipping by sometimes and I always tell her we will ride that some day. Well that some day happened last Wednesday.

It was the main Twins Game I wanted to go to since Trampled by Turtles (A MN band I really like) was playing there in between innings. It also happened to be dollar dog day so that was a nice bonus :)

Too bad the Twins couldn't pull off a win. They were ahead and should have one but ended up losing in extra innings. We still had fun though. Harper slept a little, Linnea colored a little, we tried playing Twingo, had ice cream, hot dogs and popcorn and got our picture on the big gold glove :)

The only thing missing was a win.

golden glove picture is coming :)

Dani's Run

Harper participated in her first 5k last Saturday morning! Chris is back on first shift as of the middle of August so he is around on the weekends which made doing this run much easier than I thought it would be when I signed up for it. I was thinking I'd be wearing Harper and pushing Linnea and getting out the door on time alone which is usually tricky for us.

This was a run for Dani whose life was sadly taken too soon because of domestic violence. As you may remember from previous posts, she is not the only woman I know of who is gone because of this horrible issue so this run was important to me. All the proceeds went to stopping domestic violence. I didn't know Dani but I do know her sister and from all the articles about her she was an amazing lady. So sad.

Anyways, Harper and I walked/jogged the course once with a friend and her daughter and then we ran around it once more. I signed up for the Mankato Marathon in October so I better get as many miles in as I can!

Harper and I visited GG afterwards which was fun and so much easier with just one child but I didn't manage to get a picture :(

That afternoon/evening turned out to be super busy...we met Chris' mom and sister one last time before her departure into the Army in South Carolina. She left last Monday! Allison wanted Jamba Juice one more time so we met there for smoothies and proceeded to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and then to the Drive In to see Turbo.

I have wanted to go to the Drive In the last few summers so I am glad we finally got there! I'm just checking things off the summer to do list which feels good!

Summer Fun!

Well since I am way behind again and don't really know where to begin I'm doing an odds and ends post and then I will do a few posts devoted to events/activities with more pictures! We are having so much fun this summer and cannot believe its coming to an end :( Some of the things we have done which have been keeping me too busy to keep up with the blog (or housework for that matter) are:

Yoga in our living room...I set the girls up with a fort and coloring/play stuff. Linnea sometimes joins me during my Yoga DVD but then we do her own kid yoga that we found on Comcast On Demand.

We've been crafting and baking:

having picnics

we finally made it to the St. Paul Farmer's Market for breakfast, music and shopping

Yoga at the library

Wading Pool Fun

A NPC swimming playdate

$2 day at Como Pool date with Mommy

pic coming

Daddy and Linnea had a date to go see Monster's University while Mommy and Harper jogged/slept and then we all met for ice cream with some friends to meet their new baby. We like these "date" nights with our kids but are looking forward to our next one together too :)

Tumbling show, Menchie's and a Picnic

More Pictures/Videos to Come!

Linnea's tumbling for the summer has to come to end. She and her neighborhood buddies who were in her class put on a great show for us! We celebrated the end with frozen yogurt at Menchies! YUM! That evening we hoped to go to the Irish Fair but cheap me refused to pay $10 to park and then who knows how much on the food inside. SO after driving around a bit and getting pretty crabby we had a picnic at the choo-choo park.

Library fun and Dylan's 7th Bday

Pictures to come!!

A few weeks ago we had a fun evening at the library for storytime. We got there a lil early and the girls played with the magnets and listened to a story on the computer. Dylan's 7th birthday was also celebrated and we went to see the movie UP at a library for free. While at Dylan's party Linnea got do some driving, swinging and she got to hold a lil kitty...which did not come home with us but we hope to get one some day :)

Visiting the Wallin's

Pictures to come!!

We went to visit some of our best friends, Carl and Lori Wallin in Glenwood, MN the first week of August and what a BLAST we had! It was so good to see them, catch up and meet their newest addition who was exactly 6 weeks old. What a sweetie lil Gabby is. Sophia and Linnea are about a month apart and played great along with 2 year old Isabelle too. Our original plan was to stay just one night in a hotel but we were having so much fun we stayed two nights. First in the hotel so we could swim and then the second night was at the Wallin's house.

We got there Tuesday around 1 and had some lunch. We wanted to go for a hike/walk but poor Belle was sick so we stayed home and played which turned out to be fine since it did start storming. The Wallin's came and swam after dinner before we all hit the hay.

Wednesday morning we got our hike in! Chris carried Harper in a backpack which she loved, I pushed Linnea in a jogger which she loved and Lori pushed the burley with her two girls in it while carrying Gabby in the Baby Bjorn. We were quite the crew! We walked through the woods to "Wonderful Wednesday" which is a fun storytime at a park. They also have crafts, games and a playground. We walked home and had fried chicken from the A&W just up the road from them. Carl was able to pick it up on his way home for lunch. He headed back to work while we all hung out at the house for the most of the afternoon.

We did get in our swimsuits and headed to the beach in the late afternoon.  Carl met us there after work with their boat. It was a great evening for a boat ride. We ended the night with a taco bar and then ice cream from A&W before the slumber party. We all slept great, got up, played a bit more, had breakfast and packed up. We stopped in Sauk City on the way home to do an easy letterbox and get some coffee from an adorable coffeehouse.

Happy 1st Bday Hattie!!

The first and second of 5 of my friends kids's first birthdays have come and gone and our lil babe is next in line (here in MN anyways). I knew 2 friends who had their first in July, 1 in August, me in Sept., 1 in October and 1 in November. It is so fun to see our kiddoes growing up together! We got to go to Hattie's first birthday and had so much fun. I went to Junior High and High School and played soccer with Hattie's mom and we have kept in touch ever since. Her birthday was at Armatage Park in Minneapolis which happened to have a wading pool and a pretty awesome playground too so we ended up spending most of the day there :)

We went on a short walk by Como Lake before going home for likely a movie since we literally outside all day! But it was great. It's what summer is about :)

Hastings Aquatic Center

Thanks to my friend Lorissa we went to a super fun and kid friendly waterpark a few weeks ago. They even had something for Harper! It was a beautiful day to play in the water and be with friends :)

Cooling off and relaxing with a lemon lime slushy!

Washington County Fair, Conservatory, Maverick's and Connie's

We had a busy day the first Thursday of August. It was one of my fav days of summer...Family Day at the Washington County Fair! And daddy got to join us this time for the first time ever! Once again I don't have many pics on the computer yet, but I do have this gem:

Daddy and Linnea were dancing to maybe the Mac and Cheese song from the Bazillions. They have performed the past few years and it's always fun. Harper was bopping along as well. We also did some crafts, walked through the petting zoo and animal barns, had some fried food (Chris even found some Gluten Free fried food!) and I went on one ride with Linnea. Then we headed home to rest up for Grandma Sarah and Aunt Allisons visit.

The new part of the Japanese Gardens. So many Bonsai's!
We finally went to the Conservatory at Como with them. They have always wanted to go but we hadn't had or made the time until now. Then we had dinner at Mavericks since we all love it and they don't have anything like it in Bay City. For dessert we finally got to introduce them to Conny's Creamy Cone. What a fun day!
