Colorado

Colorado, here we come!!!
We left for Berthoud and Fort Collins, CO July 2nd to visit family and go to one of my best friends weddings. It was a great trip but far too short!

Here is the car all packed up. I think we did pretty good...I was in the back with Linnea most of the time, but did get to drive a few hours. We had a great time listening to some kid music, some of our music and a part of a book on cd. Those are a pretty great way to get through a book if you don't have much time to sit and read!
This baby was quite the traveler too!! She was either sleeping or playing in her carseat almost the whole way. She only fussed during the last half hour of each day. I would too!
We did get out to picnic, play and nurse at least every three hours or so, so what normally would be an 8 or 6 hour day was about 10 this time!
But we made it to the Super 8 in York, Nebraska around 7:30pm I think, so we had time to eat and stretch on the bed for a while!
Here she is, kicking away!
Linnea wasn't a fan of the crib the hotel offered so we had a slumber party in our bed. We enjoyed our free breakfast and continued on our way.
What a happy camper!
Here was our last stop before our final destination. I think it was at a very nice rest stop by Cheyenne. Someone was nice enough to get a cute family photo!
And we made it to Owen and Kathy's in time for dinner! YAY!
And Linnea got to sit in their Bumbo and play with Taylor! They got a long really well and Linnea told me she is excited to see her again!
Here is our little girl all ready for America's Bday! Her onesie says, Baby's First Fourth of July and her hat has a cute flag on it.
We spent the morning of the 4th at my friends farmer's market.
Then Owen and Kathy drove us into the mountains. It was a beautiful drive and we all made it without getting carsick or altitude sickness! YAY!

A storm was coming as they say it almost always does around 2 so we just took a little hike and got some nice pictures.

Here we are with Raggedy Ann...I think Linnea thought she was real. This was at my friends house for their pre wedding 4th of July BBQ. We had to take a break inside to nurse the baby and then we rested on the bed for a bit.
Here we are at the picnic! It was very fun and some people made it to fireworks afterwards, however we headed back to Owen and Kathy's because it started to rain pretty hard and we had one tired kiddo. I was able to see some fireworks through the window while rocking Linnea to sleep but overall we missed them this year.
Linnea is one excited baby about to experience her first wedding!
We walked around Old Town Fort Collins before the wedding which was very cute.
Then it was wedding time and apparently nap time for Linnea. She stayed awake for the ceremony and to eat and then that was enough.
But she did wake up to get a picture with the lovely bride and groom! Congrats Al and Gil! We had a blast!
Here are the proud grandparents/great aunt and uncle with some of Linnea's cousins! Thank you for letting us stay with you!
As you can see from this expression, it was fabulous!
Linnea loved not only the new toys she got to play with but also the dogs! She really seems to like petting animals...she always does a cute lil giggle and smirk.
And Parker was so nice to share one of his old floor gyms and play gently with her. It was good practice for his new baby sister on the way! He will be a great big bro!
After that fun night of playing, we headed home the next day. Here is one cute set of father and daughters on our first rest stop.
Oh I will just lick this for a while. I have all day in the car...may as well keep myself busy.
After that long day in the car, it was time to stretch out and be queen of the king sized bed. King sized beds are ridiculously huge so we had a slumber party again. Linnea would have been fine in this Holiday Inn's crib but mom and dad were not okay with her in there since when we put her in, her legs immediately went through the bars and we were worried they would get hurt through the night if she started kicking which she does a lot of.
We stayed overnight in Omaha and did a little bit of sightseeing before heading out. It was a cute town and I hope to visit again and go to the zoo!
Linnea thought it was her turn to take the wheel fir the final stretch! Enough of that carseat already!
We finally made it home the early evening of July 7th and I finally had time to do this blog July 22nd! oh well...better late than never!
We had so much fun, but next time we are in CO it needs to be longer! Thank you again Owens for the hospitality! It was wonderful and greatly appreciated!
