Edgewater Family Fall Trip!

For our annual whole family trip this fall we headed to Duluth and stayed at The Edgewater Hotel and Waterpark. What a blast we had!!!
We got there Friday night and hit the water for a bit before having our pizza night. We also did a small celebration for Ian's 6th birthday with cake and presents before hitting the hay. Saturday we had breakfast and swam before lunch. After lunch we played mini golf and in the arcade. We then went into Duluth where it was quite rainy, so some headed back to to the hotel while some stayed and went to the visitor center. We swam some more before supper and then watched Turbo and played before bed.

Harper wasn't quite sure what to think of all the water and noise but she had fun...

Linnea did the BIG and DARK and TWISTY waterslide over and and over and over with me, Daddy or Papa. What a brave girl. I could not believe it! So proud of her :) She surprises me every day.

It was very rainy Saturday after but we went into Duluth anyways. Brian's family and us went to the visitor center briefly and then met everyone back at the hotel for supper and watchingTurbo!

movie night with the cousins :)

Linnea is redeeming all her tickets she earned in the arcade for some little trinkets (toys that will get lost but candy that will get eaten) She thought it was very cool to see the tickets going in.

Harper enjoyed crawling in and out of the bedstand :) I enjoyed a run along Lake Superior before heading home.
It was a super fun trip that will likely be repeated. It was later in the season than usual but it worked out great. Some year we may go one weekend later to see the Bentleyville Lights!

Snow and Sick :(

We got snow Tuesday night and we also got sick...well the girls did. Linnea has been battling a cough for a while now but Tuesday it seemed worse and she had a tummy ache. Harper seemed super warm and a bit out of sorts. Susana said she didn't eat well on Monday. So I called in Wed, rather than leaving Susana with two sick kiddoes. We watched movies and tried to nap but no one was interested in that :(

looking at the snow wanting to go play...I really should have got a better pic of the first snow. It didnt last and of course we will have more. Its Minnesnowta after all!
By the end of the day Linnea was feeling much better but Harper had developed a 100.4 fever so we planned on having Chris call in. She gave us 13.5 months of total health so we cant complain but we sure hate seeing her like this. She has quite the raspy voice, hacking cough and runny nose. Poor thing!

But she is trying to smile, walk, eat, play and dance through it all.

While Harper has been sick, Linnea and I have had a few dates.

We did Jammie storytime at Barnes and Noble on Friday night and Saturday morning we headed back to one of our fav events at St. Paul Central Library for Saturday Live. This week it was about mini horses and there was one there :) Linnea enjoyed the story about it and petting it. She also did turkey craft and a dinosaur coloring sheet. Fun morning!

petting the mini horse!
The rest of Saturday was spent at home trying to get random things done and rest for the girls. Linnea is not 100% and I know that because Friday and today (Saturday) she took 2 hour naps and still went to bed fine around 8:30...the usual time for us. Hope they are back to themselves soon :)

I think this one is close :)

Weekend at home

The Saturday and Sunday after Halloween and visiting with our Colorado cousins was pretty low key...

We played in bed a bit in the morning, colored, watched some tv and then went to a park before it gets to cold and snowy here to do that. Some errands and tidying up our very lived in house also occurred.

Harper is always trying to color just like big sis :)
weeee!!!

Sunday we went to church and visited GG again :)

Harper spent church in the nursery this time. She's getting to active for the service these days :)

Thomas Visit

The Friday following Halloween was very fun...some of my cousins from Colorado were here so we spent the whole afternoon and most of the evening together. The girls and I met them at a park by Como Zoo after Linnea's ballet class.

We then proceeded to the Zoo:

there was a cute baby giraffe!

Hmmm...how do they measure up by a gorilla??

Three cousins on a turtle :)
enough is enough mom!

We headed back to my parents house for some crafts, playtime, pizza and a little show on the basement wall thanks to Kim and Ben bringing their projector :) I have some pictures on Chris' phone of the show on the wall that I will try to remember to get on here. They are super cute :)

We had brought our costumes to show grandma and grandpa what we wore...Linnea and Harper got in theirs briefly and at one point Harper ended up with Rapunzel's hair:

Here are the projector pictures:

So fun and we just may have to get one :)
