Disney on Ice!

My mom, Linnea and I had a girls night out!
We went to see Disney on Ice and I think we all LOVED it! Linnea did wish Rapunzel and Merida (Brave) would have been there but overrall she had a great time.

I surprised her with her Brave dress :)
We sat a ways away but it was okay still. My mom has some nice pictures of each of us with Linnea that I will try to get up soon :)

Farewell to Friends Part 2

We decided to have Susana and family over one more time before they left, especially since Harper could not make it to the first farewell party. So here is farewell party number 2...I made some rigatoni and bread and Susana brought salad. We decided to have dinner with a movie, and that movie was of course Frozen :) Chris was able to buy it through our XBOX One before you can get it on dvd. Susana's family had not seen it yet but Linnea played the music for Susana and talked about it just about every morning before we left for the day so we thought it would be fitting to watch it with them. Everyone loved it, we exchanged a few more gifts and then we had a teary goodbye but promised to keep in touch with FB, letters and we will try skyping :)

Mugs made by me...we each get one...love from MN to Spain :)

balloons are so much fun to play with :)

all set for the movie...

 love.

more love.

a movie we will love forever.

I think Chris has a group picture I will try to remember to get on here.

Farewell to Friends Part 1

The end of February brought the time we had to say goodbye to our dear friends who were also Harper's nanny/caregiver since September. The neighborhood had a nice farewell party for them. Thank you to Sheri and Ray for hosting. It was pretty cold but some brave souls sledded for about an hour before the party and then played on Sheri and Ray's ice rink in their backyard. Linnea was one of these brave souls...until a puck went into her foot and then into her leg as she was trying to stand up. We were done at that point and headed in to play, eat and visit :) Sheri provided a taco bar and in true MN fashion, everyone brought an appetizer, side dish or dessert to share. We were so blessed and lucky to meet and have Susana, Elias and Andres in our life. Her love for Harper and the care she gave her was wonderful. It was so nice to have someone come to our house everyday. Susana made it so easy to go to work knowing Harper was in good hands and in her own home (or sometimes in Susana's house).

 The ice rink!
right before getting hit with the puck. twice.

Susana and Gail (next door neighbors. Susana watched her girls a lot too)

We made Susana and family a salt dough ornament or wall hanging with the girls' handprint on them. Linnea did the honors of painting both during the sleepover at grandma and papa's.

Susana and three of her lil princesses :)

Playing games!

playing with Andres.

More Feb Fun

Still trying to finish up February fun :) The girls and I went to another friends 6th bday...this time it was a Frozen pool party at a nice rec center about a mile from our house. It was lots of fun!

Right from the party I brought the girls out to my parents house for their first double sleepover and Chris and I got to go on our second date of the year :)

I sadly did not take a picture of us on our date but we had a great time...we started at Pazzaluna with a group of Chris's friends from college and then when they went onto a bar we went off on our own to a comedy show. I had bought a groupon for The Joke Joint and we had a great time :)

The girls slept great at their sleepover. Harper even slept all night in their small crib they have! SO the girl can do it...just not for us in her own crib yet. Sheesh.

My parents returned the girls to us in the afternoon for a bit of sledding before our friends/Harper's nanny's farewell party. Harper actually wasnt able to come since she had a fever and was super tired :( More about that in the next blog :)

deep deep deep deep snow

so much snow this winter. here is some feb snowy fun we had:

a snowman I saw on a run.

We miss the park so we played at it in the snow anyways.

Pretty.

Night snow pictures before a snow day off school...it happened to be on a Friday so I had it off anyways but I was so happy for my co-workers to not have to go in.
The roads were so terrible.

finger painting!!

We did a new craft and it was a hit:

Homemade fingerpaint! I think we used the following recipe:
3 tbs sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup corn starch and 2 cups of water and food coloring so it wasn't a big deal if Harper ate it which of course she did do a little sampling.
