Flint Hills and Gardening

We had a family day at Flint Hills Children's Festival again and it was so fun. The girls enjoyed the different types of music and dancing, did some crafts and tried out some new instruments.

We also saw a VERY cool trampoline show!

Daddy and Harper shared a pasty...Ill have to try to make these...I remember them being a hit last year too :)

We ended the day by getting henna...and yes I mean we...Linnea wanted mommy to get it too.

Once we got home we worked hard on gardening/potting all those pretty flowers we had bought on our date night :) During gardening we found this caterpillar! We kept it alive just over a week and then it unfortunately passed :( We will try to raise another one soon. Linnea was devastated and still talks about missing Katie. She said, I tried my very best to keep it alive mommy :(

Here are some of our pots!

Our flower garden...hope there will be some color soon!

And our attempt at veggies again..some new ones this year...radishes, chives and carrots along with the usual cukes, zucchini, beans and peas. Theres another veggie garden not pictured where lots of tomatoes and peppers hopefully will grow this year!

And some more fruits and veggies in pots/buckets. Chris read that you can grow cantaloupe in a box...so thats what we have in the wooden box and I think its going to work! We also have some strawberries, peppers, tomatoes and broccoli.
