Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Here are some crafts Linnea and Harper did for the holiday with me one day.

This is us rewarding ourselves after a successful shopping trip to Target to get everything we needed for our holiday weekend at Chris' aunts cabin with his cousins :)

Our new car hit 1000 miles on the way up. We thought it was photo worthy.

Dinner stop at McDonald's with our lil fire crackers.

We made with a lil time to swing on their bench swing and have a lil bonfire and smores.

The two day we were there were spent by the water...playing the sand and swimming :) Even though it was windy and kinda cool the kids were fish anyways. Harper loved walking up and down the dock. Mom and dad not so much since she cant swim and we didn't have a life jacket for her.  So we just followed her around :) Linnea even jet skied with her godfather!

Time for a freezie break!

 Fun with Harper!

We also took some craft breaks and did a scavenger hunt with the neighbors and cousins.

Looking at the fish in the bucket.

Waiting for fireworks! This was the first time we have taken the girls to fireworks on the fourth. It was actually the first time since Linnea was born that Chris and I watched them outside live together on the fourth. We have done Christmas ones with them and watched them on tv but that's it so this was kind of a special year.

All the kids got red white and blue ribbons in their hair or on their heads and we had glowsticks. We tried sparklers but didn't remember matches.

It was a great show and even tho it looks like Harper is asleep here she is not...my flash is just horrible!

Linnea watched out in the window back at the cabin to see if more fireworks were going on. Harper waited somewhat patiently to go to sleep.

This was our home for the weekend. It was "the loft/beach house" in the yard of the big cabin. Perfect for us.
We stayed Thurs and Fri night and left Saturday around 4.

More cabin fun...

We got a picture of all the kids in their homemade shirts before leaving and also did a pinata :)

We stopped for ice cream on the way home and it was delicious!

All those who were awake got to have some :)

After sleeping in a little on Sunday we felt refreshed enough to pack a picnic lunch and head to Lake Elmo for another afternoon of swimming on the steamy day after our journey home. My parents joined us there, took Linnea home after for a few hours so we could kind of catch up on laundry/cleaning/mowing and then had dinner with us when they returned her.

Harper slept on the way home and then in the car for a while (with the AC on don't worry. And Chris was outside mowing and I was in the kitchen with the car in sight) Anyways when she woke up and got changed this was her outfit she chose. Her birthday suit :)

What a wonderful holiday weekend we had!
