Big Truck, JBF, Music Festival

I am so behind on this blog so I am not even sure when I did this but I took Linnea to the Big Truck day at the Woodbury Central Park parking lot. We got there very close to the end of the event, like 5 minutes til the end (see, still trying to figure out how to get out of the house on time) but there were so many people there the trucks stuck around for about an extra half hour so Linnea was able to climb up a few and "drive". We then went to the Just Between Friends kids consignment sale and found a few new outfits for L and sleepers for H.

On Sunday I took both girls out on my own for the first time! There was a kids Music Festival at Como Lake Pavilion which is so close and sounded so fun! Chris wanted to stay home and watch the Vikes so I let him and braved the outing myself. We had a great time and our friend MaryBeth met us with her two kids and the neighborhood crew also came!

 The girls got crazy hair,
fun pics in a photo booth
and after a long wait they got their faces painted.

I was so proud of Linnea for getting her face done, usually she is scared and just gets her arm painted. She chose a dolphin and Josie chose a butterfly. I think it helped that Josie went first and Linnea saw her get her face painted.
When we got home Chris and Linnea did some raking and leaf jumping while I made some homemade soup. Harper and I did go outside and check out the leaf piles as well.

Thank you A Child's View

I know I have blogged a bit about Linnea's upcoming last day of preschool. Well it came and I think we did a pretty good job handling it. We made the teachers some PB cookies and stuck a tag on it that said "because of you I am one smart cookie", and I really believe that. Linnea has learned so much from ACV and we can only hope we can find suc a great place come January for both of our girls. She also made a tree card and we wrote thank you for helping me grow.

It doesn't seem like it was almost 2 years ago I dropped a lil 18 month old off at the toddler site. It was exciting to see her transition so well to the preschool site and make some good friends and memories. For those good friends we made donut holes with a tag that said, "donut you know you are a great friend. I will miss you. Have fun in preschool."

It was a tearful goodbye for me as I hugged her teacher but her teacher seemed to understand our situation and hopes for the best for Linnea. We hope to send the girls somewhere from Jan to June and then they will be home with me again for the summer and then ideally Linnea can go to Pre-K through the St. Paul Public Schools at an actual school for free!
bye bye Emily! xoxoxo! thank you so much!

bye bye Liza! xoxoxo! thank you so much!
I plan to visit when we can and we definitely hope to run into the kids at the storytime at the library they would walk to once a week. We are not sure it has totally sunk in to Linnea that she is not going back there, she every now and then this week said she wanted to go. I am doing my best to keep her busy and teach her things but it is not always easy with a newborn. They are quite needy!

We went out for frozen yogurt again to celebrate/mourn her last day.

Days with Harper

Before Linnea's last day of preschool Chris and I enjoyed some time with just Harper and each other.  I brought Linnea to preschool around 10 almost everyday and then she was there until around 4:30. Chris and I got to watch some shows, nap a little and just hang out. I also did some researching online for activities for us girls while on maternity leave. I like to get out at least once a day and I found plenty of options! Linnea is signed up for a tumbling class Friday mornings and a Sporties for Shorties class on Monday afternoons. Both classes will start in November. I hope we can get there on time! Here are some pictures of Harper during the days with us and with Linnea in the evening. We met our neighborhood friends at the park a few times too during our week together.

Como Zoo

Linnea went to preschool every day the week after Harper was born except Tuesday when we took our first family trip to the Como Zoo. It went great but is definitely trickier getting out the door with two! We will get used to it though!

there was a storytime about a spider right as we were leaving so we of course stopped for that on our way out.

That evening we went to my parents house for dinner and to introduce Harper to uncle Brian and cousin Kaylan. Kaylan had lots of giggles and smiles for her new cousin and dinner was delicious!

giggly girls!

proud uncle!

cant give lil sis enough kisses!

Ians Soccer Game and Bounce House Fun!

Our first Saturday home I left Harper home with daddy while Linnea and I went to watch cousin/nephew Ian play soccer.

There was also a bounce house extravaganza and park that Linnea loved! We had a good mommy/daughter time and daddy had fun with Harper and Harper did just fine taking a bottle of my milk from daddy. I'd like to try to do something with just Linnea at least once every week or two.

Linnea had an overnight at grandma and papa's again on Saturday night so Chris and I only had to worry about Harper which was super nice!

We even got to watch a movie together! woohoo! My mom brought Linnea to Sunday school and church and then returned her to us after that in time for the Vikings Game!
